Education in Braga, Portugal, 11-16 July 2016

he XVII International Organization for Science and Technology Education (IOSTE), hosted by the University of Minho was
held in Braga, Portugal from 11 to 16 July 2016. Arriving at Braga in the morning of 10 July, Professor Dato Dr. Jamil Hamali,
Tthe Rector of UiTM Sarawak and Associate Professor Dr. Margaret Chan were plunged into the midst of Portuguese hysteria
as the national football team was going to play against France in the final of 2016 UEFA European Championship or Euro 2016 in
the evening.

The next morning at the conference, Dr. Margaret presented a paper on “Teachers’ Conceptions of Environment in Sarawak,
Malaysia” with co-authors, Pierre Clément from Honorary Université Lyon 1, Université d’ Aix-Marseille and Lai Kim Leong from
Teacher Education Institute of Malaysia, Batu Lintang Campus. During the election for Board members and regional representatives,
Dr. Margaret was elected to the IOSTE Board as the regional representative of the South East Asia Region for 2016–2018
after being in the Executive Board since 2012 until 2016 in the capacity of being the Conference Chairperson for IOSTE Borneo 2014
and past Conference Chairperson. The next XVII IOSTE will be held in Sweden.

2015 Excellent Service Award! The Excellent Service
HAward ceremony was held on 27 October 2016 at
Bilik Sarjana, Samarahan 1 Campus. The Rector of UiTM
Sarawak, Professor Dato Dr. Jamil Hamali handed the
certificates to the 63 recipients and encouraged the staff
to keep up the good work!

Pertandingan sukan

angkat berat SUKAN XIII 2016

iTM Sarawak telah dipilih menjadi venue Pertandingan Sukan
Angkat Berat SUKAN XIII 2016 yang berlangsung pada 22 Ogos hingga
U30 Ogos 2016, YTM Dato Seri Diraja Tan Sri Tuanku Sallehuddin
Tuanku Temenggong Kedah Pengerusi Jemaah Pemangku Sultan Kedah
mencemar duli menonton pertandingan pada 28 Ogos 2016. Pada waktu
yang sama, Profesor Dato Dr. Jamil Hj Hamali, Rektor UiTM Sarawak, turut
menyampaikan medal kepada para pemenang pertandingan.
