Abstract:
Bicycle is a type of transport that is commonly used in developed countries because of its mobility,
environmental friendliness, and ability to be combined with other types of traffic to optimize time and energy.
Moreover, it also exploits optimally the efficiency that each type of transport brings. The improvement of
public bicycle in developed countries is relatively easy, but for countries with complex traffic condition of
many motorcycles such as VietNam, it is a major challenge. In recent years, large cities in Vietnam such as
Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, and Da Nang are experiencing big changes in traffic so it is absolutely reasonable to
carry out researches about developing public bicycle in order to create connections between types of
transportation. Despite many difficulties, cities still encourage to develop this type in small models focused
in some closed areas, which paves the way for the future development. For the sake of developing public
bicycles in the current motorcycle environment, the government and people should have certain changes in
policies as well as awareness of public transport in general and bicycles public in particular.
