more  than  others.  I  have  found that some wires need two full  rotations while

               others  need  only  a  half  turn.  When  you  think  you  have  a  little  of  the  twist
               removed, stop the copper-clad grips with a bolt. Take care here because if the
               grips slip out of your hand, it will whirl around, knocking your knuckles with
               some force. You will be able to tuck only once or twice before having to adjust
               the grips again.

               CORE-TO-CORE EYE SPLICE

                         Use this alternative eye splice on double-braid rope such as Spectra for
                           which—according to the manufacturers’ specifications—the primary
                                                    strength lies in the core.

                                                        Tubular fid
                                                        Vinyl tape
                                                 Scissors or sharp knife
                                                       Marking pen
                                                 Waxed whipping twine
                                                          Needle
                                                   Thimble (optional)




                  Place a fresh piece of tape on the rope end where the eye is to be spliced to
