One of a sect who maintain that, under the
gospel dispensation, the law is of no use or
obligation; or who hold doctrines which
supersede the necessity of good works and a
virtuous life. This sect originated with John
Agricola about the year 1538.
Most professing Christians in this age
(including many pastors) know nothing
about a cost associated with becoming a
Christian. Rather, they believe that
discipleship and suffering for one’s Christian
faith is optional. Rejection for the cause of
Christ and for communicating the message
of salvation to family, friends, and
associations outside the walls of a church
building is foreign to most professing
Christians today, and prayer requests for
courage and boldness to individually and
