TIMES OF INDIA: HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016-17

TOI NAGPUR RELAUNCH- A MASSIVE SUCCESS STORY

The Times of India Nagpur edition got relaunched on 10th Oct 2016 with a revamped
product structure. The change was based on consumer feedback that Nagpurians wanted to
read everything about their city in a separate supplement.

The new Nagpur Times is a completely reimagined city supplement. It now covers all city
news – ranging from civic issues, crime, infrastructure, health, education to city sports,
events & business. All entertainment news now comes under a newly introduced section
within NT called E-Times. Nagpur, fondly known as the Orange City became the inspiration
for the new look of Nagpur Times. The orange colour symbolizes joy, determination,
enthusiasm & happiness. It is now an integral part of NT’s masthead, pages, graphics and
visuals. In addition, the main TOI book has additional news covering state & region. This new
product structure has the potential to strengthen TIMS/local connect and can become a
model example for many tier-2 towns in the future.

The re-launch was promoted through a 3600 communication plan across print, outdoor,
radio, digital, BTL and trade mediums. A glittering launch event was graced by the Hon CM
of Maharashtra and attended by clients and eminent citizens of Nagpur. The initial response
from readers as well as clients has been extremely positive

             TOI GREEN DRIVE – 2016

The Times of India embarked on a mission and helped the city finally see the smog in the air
through the ‘Let Delhi Breathe’ campaign. It urged key stakeholders and government reps to
put in place a plan to tackle the problem of alarming levels of pollution in Delhi NCR and
factors that contribute to it. While this has set the wheels in motion with the National Green
Tribunal proposing a ban on diesel vehicles more than 10 years old, a ban on the burning of
leaves & garbage which is punishable by a fine of INR 5000 and the BS-IV fuel rolling out
across North India a year ahead of schedule, TOI felt that the city is still in need of a
miraculous recovery; hence The Times of India decided to be the magician for the capital
             city of India!

The TOI GREEN DRIVE was an effort to combat pollution and take a step towards
maintaining the ecological balance in Delhi NCR by focusing on the single most critical
element in the sustenance of life on earth- A Tree.
