ECONOMIC TIMES: HIGHLIGHTS OF 2016-17
SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF ET INFRA SUMMIT
The Economic Times India Infra Summit 2017 was created as a thought leadership platform for ET. It is
the first edition of a definitive public-private dialogue on issues facing policymaking in the
infrastructure sector. The Summit comprised three roundtables, and a full-day event.
The main event was held in March 2017 in New Delhi and was presided over by India’s top Cabinet
ministers in the infrastructure domain - M Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Urban Development; Nitin
Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping; Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Railways.
Besides policymakers, the Summit also gathered some of the corporate leaders involved in
accelerating the development of Railways, highways, ports, shipping, smart cities and housing.

SUCCESSFUL 2ND EDITION OF ET STARTUP AWARDS
The ET Startup Awards have been instituted to recognize and felicitate India’s brightest startups and
investors. The awards span 8 categories – Startup of the Year, Woman Ahead, Top Innovator,
Bootstrap Champ, Midas Touch Best Investor, Social Enterprise, Best on Campus and Comeback Kid
2016 saw its second edition run successfully with the jury comprising stalwarts such as Nandan
Nilekani, Rajan Anandan, Sachin Bansal and Vijay Shekhar Sharma amongst others. The event was
attended by 350-plus distinguished guests, including Nitin Gadkari, Kunal Bahl, Bhavish Aggarwal,
Kavin Bharti Mittal, Kris Gopalakrishnan, Amitabh Kant and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw

IMPRESSIVE 40 UNDER 40
The Economic Times 40 Under 40 list which identifies India's hottest business leaders under the age of
40 came out with yet another impressive list in 2016- selected by a prestigious jury comprising
Arundhati Bhattacharya, Harsh Goenka, D Shivakumar, Ronnie Screwvala and Vani Kola
The Awards ceremony took place in September 2016 in Mumbai. A highlight of the evening was an
inspiring talk by Mark Inglis, the world’s only double amputee to summit Mt Everest. A special feature
highlighting the leaders was published in The Economic Times in the following week.
