Forgotten passwords and unlocking your account
If you have forgotten your PC login password Your office phone number will be set
or have been locked out of your account, you
can recover your password through a self-
service portal.
One-Time Registration
Before you can reset your PC login password or
unlock your account, you will need to register
for the portal. This only needs to be done
once and takes less than ten minutes.
To register:
1. Click here to access the Microsoft log-in
screen.
Enter your havering.gov.uk or newham.gov.uk
email address (not your oneSource email
address) and usual login password.
• If you have previously logged in to any of
the Microsoft Online applications, you will
be taken to the Apps screen. From here,
click on your profile name in the top right-
hand corner, select Profile and select the
Set up Self-Service Password Reset option.
• If you haven’t previously logged in to any
Microsoft Online applications, after entering
your email address and password you may
be asked to enter the characters displayed.
Once you have entered these details, Next.
2. You will now be asked to set up your
security information.
You must complete at least two of the
verification options: office phone, mobile
phone, email address or security questions.
These options are the ways you can receive
verification codes to reset your password or
unlock your account.

system. As you are working remotely you will
want to select at least one other option you
can access while not in the office. The details
you enter here, such as personal telephone
number, email address and security questions
will not be accessible by anyone else.
To set up Authentication by Phone
Select Set It Now next to the “Authentication
Phone is not configured” option. Select UK
as the Country Code then enter your phone
number. This should be a phone that you keep
with you, such as your personal mobile number,
so that the verification code can be sent to that
phone when you forget your password.
After entering your mobile number, select Text
Me or Call Me. Depending on your selection,
you will either receive a text message or a
phone call with a verification code. Type in the
verification code on the screen.
You have now registered your phone number.
To set up Authentication by Email
Select Set It Now next to the “Authentication
Email Address is not configured” option. Enter
an email address that your verification code
can be sent to if you cannot log in. This should
not be your work email address. After entering
an email address, select Email Me.
Log onto your personal email to retrieve the
verification code, and type this onto the screen.
You have now registered your email address.
