STRATEGY ENHANCEMENT POWER MSME COMPETITIVENESS IN
GOVERNMENT AREAS PROVINCE INNER NORTH SUMATRA FACE

Abstrak: The purpose of this research is to find out the strategy to increase the
competitiveness of MSMEs in the North Sumatra provincial government in
facing the ASEAN economic community. By knowing the strategy to increase
the competitiveness of MSMEs so that they can open up jobs in various districts
in the North Sumatra provincial government area. If in a district or province in
Indonesia there are many MSMEs that grow and continue to survive, of course it
will also increase the economic growth of a region, especially in the government
area of the province of North Sumatra. In order to explore various problems,
obstacles, and map the extent to which regional readiness, especially the
province of North Sumatra, both the government and the community In the
implementation of the MEA, in this study a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was
carried out. which involve various parties/stakeholders which hold interest or
related with MEA. Focused on analyzing the political economy policies of the
Provincial Government North Sumatra in the Asean Economic Community
(MEA) towards Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This research
was conducted with the aim of examining the validity of the liberalism ideology
against the political economy policy of the North Sumatra Provincial
Government in the MEA for MSMEs in North Sumatra. The method used in this
research is descriptive qualitative which is more emphasizes the policies of the
North Sumatra Provincial Government in the AEC, opportunities and obstacles
emerging for SMEs. The results of this study are expected to be a reference and
solution for the Government North Sumatra Province in making policies for
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in running the ASEAN Economic
Community. The resulting political policies are the following: policies that can
take advantage of opportunities and answer the challenges that exist in the AEC.
With policy political government which appropriate target will realize
destination development together. As for The validity of the data referred to is a
form of limitation related to something certainty , while the analysis technique
used in this study uses a flow analysis model, which includes three components,
namely 1) data reduction 2) data presentation 3) drawing conclusions.
