Abstrak: This paper attempts to analyze the findings of a survey-based study of
students who received entrepreneurship education at the Islamic college of UIN
Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi in West Sumatra. These findings are
preliminary findings of ongoing and exploratory field research, showing that at
least at Islamic Higher Education UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi,
there are attitudes and perceptions that are less positive towards
entrepreneurship and its impacts, and more extreme institutional ones that
should be able to provide an environment that support entrepreneurial ventures
sometimes act as barriers to entrepreneurial growth. The question of this
research is to find answers about entrepreneurial values in Islamic universities,
namely: What is the influence of culture on entrepreneurship and motivation to
carry out new business creation activities? The main objective of the study is to
make a comparison between the attitude of the management and the attitude of
students in entrepreneurship within the framework of cultural studies. This
paper tries to explore the idea that culture can be used or taught to better
understand current attitudes in adapting teaching activities to culture at the
Islamic higher education institution of UIN Sjech M Djamil Djambek
Bukittinggi. Design/methodology/approach: using ratio measurement in
quantitative research. For example, the sample will be asked to decide whether
those who are self-employed are seen as 1=those who fail, 2=doesn't fail but
also doesn't succeed, 3=very successful. To ensure maximum reliability and
validity, questionnaires were administered directly. To evaluate quantitative
research, the thurstone scale method with intervals used appears to be the same.
The main contribution of this paper is a systematic framework for the
entrepreneurial Islamic college of UIN Sjech M Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi in
building the entrepreneurial spirit of students through entrepreneurship
education looking at the environment and culture.
