Chapter 4 Frame and Carriage Assembly

Floor Mounted Frame

CAUTION

For safety, always clamp equipment to the forks before lifting.

11) Take the two fork lifts and place one under each head beam in the center and carefully lift the
assembly 48’’ off the ground. Locate the four legs and place them in the corner clamps with the
base plates facing toward the outside of the building. If the forks do not need to be flipped then
move on to step 14. If the forks need to be flipped, tighten the corner clamps onto the legs.

Position fork-lifts Raise frame 48” and secure legs to frame with bases facing outward
12) Lower the forks and back away from the head beams and flip the forks (if necessary).

13) Drive back under the center of the head beams as shown below.

Flip forks over if necessary Re-position fork-lifts
14) Loosen the corner clamps where they are attached to the legs so when you lift the head beams
and rails the legs stay on the ground and the clamps can slide up the legs.
