INSTALLATION AND STARTUP
Chapter 4 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Floor Mounted Frame
15) Raise the machine up and set the height from the bottom of the head beams to the ground to
131’’ at all four legs and tighten the clamps back onto the legs.
CAUTION
Use caution when lifting the frame with the
flipped forks, if the frame was to slide back and
off the forks, it could fall onto the fork-lift. For
this reason, we suggest that you place a clamp
of some sort on both sides of the head beam
on each of the forks of the fork lift. This will not Clamps on forks in place
allow the frame to slide forward or backward.
131”
Measurement taken from the underside
of the Headbeam to the floor.
16) Slide the legs and corner clamps out to the end of the head beam or wall, which ever comes first.
Tighten fasteners.
17) Measure the distance from the closest wall to the bottom of the leg on the entrance and exit side
of the machine and set equal on both ends. In a large building; the machine should be centered
to the door if possible. In a small building; the legs can be set right up against the wall if
necessary.
18) Using the supplied 5/8” lag bolts (1FSTNR-ST750), secure the frame to the floor at all 4 corners.
19) If the rails are set at the 92-1/4’’ spacing, the rail is completely erected except the rail travel stops.
If the spacing is 100’’, the drivers side head beam clamps should be loosened to where the lock
washers are not fully compressed and the rail travel stops need to be clamped on.
20) At this point, the frame is almost completely erected. All except the bolts that are not tightened
yet on the driver side head beam clamps.
21) Check level at the Head Beams and rails at the center of each span to compensate for possible
sagging of the rails. Determine the lowest corner that has the required 131” distance from the
under-side of the Head Beam to the floor
22) Raise the other 3 corners to level the Head Beams and rails. This part is CRITICAL for proper
machine operation! Not to mention the difficulty once the fork lifts are gone.
