Chapter 4 Frame and Carriage Assembly

            Rail Travel Stop-Clamp Placement

Before placing the Carriage onto the rails you will need to install the Rail Travel Stop Clamps. Follow
the instructions below to do so.
            10) On the opposite end of the bay that the machine will be loaded onto the rails from, secure into
place two of the Rail Travel Stop Clamps. Make sure that the Stop Post is facing toward where
the roller will hit it as shown below.
                                          Stop Post

                                  Rail Travel Stop Clamps

              • If the machine is to be loaded onto rails from the entrance end of the bay, the Rail Travel Stop Clamps will be placed
onto the rail at the exit end flush to the edge of the rail. The 7/16 through-bolts will be tightened through the pre-
drilled holes in the rails. If the machine is to be loaded from the exit end of the bay, you must then determine which
position you would like the Travel Stops to be placed at. Refer to the previous section under “Length Considerations”
to refresh your memory on the Rail Travel Stop placement.
              • If it is determined that the Rail Travel Stop Clamps are not going to be adjusted inward, position the clamps flush to
the end of the rail and tighten the 7/16 x 4-1/2” through-bolts through the pre-drilled holes in the rails using the
                 supplied 7/16” lock nuts.
              • If the Rail Travel Stop Clamps needs to be adjusted to a different position within the 30’’ adjustment area, new
through-holes will need to be drilled into the rail to secure the Rail Travel Stops. Use a 15/32” drill bit to drill the
clearance hole for the 7/16” through-bolt for securing the clamps into position.

              • Using the “end limit” stop clamp holesas a hole pattern locator on the rail assuming a new limit stop location is
determined, through-holes will have to be drilled through both sides of the rail at each limit stop location. When
drilling new holes, use the End Limit Clamps and the 15/32” through-holes to locate the two through-holes needed at
each clamp position. Once these holes are drilled, use the 7/16 x 4-1/2” bolts and lock nuts to secure the clamp into
                 place on the rail.
