Workplace Violence
National Paints believes in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, in part by promoting open, friendly, and
supportive working relationships among all employees. Violence or threats of violence have no place in our business.
Violence is not an effective solution to any problem. Employees are strictly prohibited from bringing any weapons,
including knives, pistols, rifles, stun guns, Mace, etc., to the worksite or office. Neither threats of violence nor fighting
will be tolerated. Furthermore, if you have a problem that is creating stress or otherwise making you agitated, you are
encouraged to discuss it with your supervisor.
You are expected to immediately report any violence to your supervisor. Any employee found threatening another
employee, fighting, and/or carrying weapons to the worksite will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including
termination.
Harassment, Bullying and Intimidation
National Paints aims to create a working environment that fosters professional growth free from intimidation and
harassment of any form. Thus, harassment and intimidation of employees by co workers, management and outsiders
is prohibited. In lieu with the company’s policies, harassment includes implicit and explicit behavior that is offensive
to the moral sensibilities and dignity of the male or female employee. Examples of harassment include but are not
limited to: unwelcome sexual advances or remarks, slurs, jokes or disparaging comments about race, ethnicity or
sexual orientation and etc.
Generally speaking, bullying and intimidation is referring to a repetitious mistreatment of someone which
can cause that person some major health, emotional and psychological problems. Behaviors that fall under
bullying and intimidation are but not limited to: offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting behavior, an abuse or
misuse of power intended to undermine, humiliate, denigrate or injure the recipient and etc.
In National Paints, the management reserves the right to impose disciplinary action on employees found and proven
guilty of harassment, bullying or intimidation.
Internet/Email/Phone Policy
In National Paints, Internet Services are considered as an operational tool to help employees with their job. It is the
philosophy of the company that these services are to be used to enhance productivity and to support the efficient
accomplishment of tasks. In turn, management has implemented the following rules to ensure proper use of the
company’s internet and e-mail services:
IT Department will create an email address for all the new joiners who require email id to perform
business related activities. Company e-mail usage is given only for business related activities and not for
personal use. Furthermore, the e-mail account and all information transmitted through e-mail are property of
the company and are considered as part of the company’s records.
Employees are not permitted to transmit any e-mail over the company systems that contain illegal,
defamatory, insulting, vulgar, rude, disruptive, offensive, harmful or immoral content.
No access shall be for personal reasons or personal browsing. Access shall only be permitted within the
parameters for which approval granted and it is only permitted for reasonable business purposes and for
furthering the interests of the company.
Employees with internet access should use the internet sensitively to protect the confidential and proprietary
information of the company.
