ST-58 Steering System- Power Steering

8. Fill in steering oil (refer to Chapter BW steering system-dynamic steering-steering oil, replacement”)
9. Checking if leakage of the steering fluid occurs.

a. Use a safe stand to support the vehicle and lift both left
and right wheels off the ground at the same time.
b. Start the engine and keep it run at idle speed.

c. Rotate the steering wheel several times within the left
and right limit positions.
Caution
The steering wheel shall not exceed 5s at the limit to
prevent breaking the steering device.

d. Check if there is any fluid leakage at the connectors of hydraulic line. If there is, it means that the nuts of
nut of the connector is loose and need tightening.

e. If the fluid leaks at the port with a clamp, replace with a new clamp.
Caution
Never tighten the clamp excessively to prevent damage to the new clamp.
