EL - 52 Electrical system – electrical components

Wiper arm and linkage mechanism

1. Disconnect the cable of battery negative pole
EG 2. Remove the windshield wipers (refer to “Chapter EL Electrical Components- Windshield wipers
and washer dispenser- Windshield wipers, Replacement”)
3. Open the front flip-over cover assembly

4. Removing the windshield wiper linkage mechanism
assembly

a. Disengage the ball joint between the windshield wiper
electric motor assembly and the windshield wiper linkage

mechanism assembly.

b. Remove the dust-proof cover from the windshield wiper
linkage mechanism assembly.

c. Remove the fixing nuts from the windshield wiper
linkage mechanism assembly. Remove the washers and the
rubber bumpers.
d. Remove the windshield wiper linkage mechanism
assembly.
5. Check the windshield wiper linkage mechanism assembly if following failures are present. If yes,
replace the windshield wiper linkage mechanism assembly
a. The windshield wiper linkage mechanism assembly is deformed.
b. The windshield wiper linkage mechanism assembly is detached.
c. windshield wiper linkage mechanism assembly is rusty.
