Vehicle speed sensor
Overview

The vehicle speed sensor is a Hall-effect sensor that works with the signal wheel on the output shaft of the
transmission. The ECM receives the digital voltage signal from the sensor to determine the current speed of
the vehicle.
Change
1. Switch off the ignition switch
2. Disconnect the cable of battery negative pole

3. Lift the vehicle
4. Remove the speed sensor

a. Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
b. Remove the vehicle speed sensor.
Caution

Clean the installation surface after dismounting to
ensure no grease dirty

5. Install speed sensor
a. Place the speed sensor and seal ring into the mounting hole and tighten.

b. Connect the vehicle speed sensor connector.
Caution
• Do not apply excessive force when tightening to prevent damage to the seal.

• Smear the right amount of oil on the external round surface of O-ring.
6. Lower the vehicle
7. Connect the battery cable

8. Inspect after installation

Start the vehicle, check for oil leaks in the vehicle speed sensor, and check if the speedometer of the
combination meter is working properly.
