              Transmission Shafts

              Transmission Shafts assembly DI

              Overview
              1. The intersect location of the axis of the transmission output shaft and the axis of rear axle driving gear can be EG
change frequently. Thus universal gearing must be used for the power transfer between the two. T ransmission
system consists of the middle transmission shaft and support assembly, the transmission shaft with a sliding
fork assembly for the transfer of output torque from the engine, transmission to the drive axle. TR
              2. Aumark medium truck is equipped with tubular and open-type transmission shaft, consisting of the front
and rear transmission shaft, three universal joints and a middle support device. The front section is the front AX
transmission shaft and middle support assembly, with single universal joint structure.
              3. Front transmission shaft assembly is equipped with a universal joint at the front end, and flange fork and
transmission 2nd flange is connected through the universal joint; The rear end of the front FR
transmission shaft is mounted in the front transmission shaft support rubber sleeve through a bearing and is
suspended under the frame cross beam through the middle support frame.
              4. The front drive bearing assembly consists of a middle support rubber sleeve framing, the single row radial ST
ball bearing, the middle support rubber sleeve, the middle support frame and the middle bearing cover. The
middle support rubber sleeve absorbs part of the vibration from the driveline to reduce noise. BR
              5. The rear spline shaft of Front transmission shaft is fitted with a transmission shaft flange, which
connected to the rear transmission shaft.
              6. The rear transmission shaft consists of the transmission shaft tube welding assembly, sliding fork and BW
              two universal joints.
              7. Spline shaft is welded on the front of rear transmission shaft tube, mounted on the transmission shaft
sliding fork assembly. Sliding fork assembly is equipped with universal joints, which can make the EL
transmission shaft to stretch and rotate freely, and connected to front transmission shaft through the
universal joint; the rear end of the transmission shaft is equipped with universal joints and is
connected with the flange of the rear axle through the flange fork.
              Precautions
              1. The transmission shaft must have a good balance performance, so when disassembled, assembly marks
should be made on the universal joint, and do not remove the counterbalance arbitrarily.
              2. Due to internal hollow of the transmission shaft, it should to be handled gently to prevent the
              bending/deformation.
              3. Before the transmission shaft is disassembled, it must first be supported by a crane or other metal wire or
              rope to ensure safety.
              4. Before disassembling the assembly, park the vehicle on a flat surface, put the transmission into the neutral
position, turn off the power and wedge the front and rear wheels.
              5. After the transmission shaft is disassembled, all the parts should be washed with kerosene or diesel oil first
and checked and repaired and serviced accordingly.
              6. T ransmission shaft assembly should be cleaned before assembly, and universal lithium grease shall be
applied to bearings, seals and mating surfaces of each parts.
              7. After the transmission shaft assembly installed complex application shaft dynamic balancer for inspection
and adjustment. Before dynamic balancing, radial runout at any point on the entire length of the shaft: should be
less than 0.35mm for both the front and the rear transmission shaft. The unbalance of front transmission shaft
and rear transmission shaft shall not be more than 50g•cm (2400r/min).After dynamic balancing,
corresponding parts at both ends of the shaft tube should be balanced by welding pieces, no more than 3 pieces
on each end, and weld 2 points. After the welding, a dynamic balance test should be conducted again.
              8. The vehicle cannot start up with high gear engaged, or flipping the clutch pedal, overloaded and over-speed
are also forbidden. These will lead to deformation or damage of transmission shaft.
