4. Check cross shaft for damage

a. Inspect the needle of the needle bearings for damage
and, if damaged, replace the cross shaft assembly.

Caution
There are a lot of lubricant in the bearings, thus
cleaning should performed before checking.

b. Check the surface of the shaft neck for flaking, check
the surface of the shaft neck for needle indentations and
other phenomena and, if any, replace cross shaft
assembly.
