WARRANTY POLICY & PROCEDURES MANUAL
“Date of Sale” is the earliest date of occurrence of any one of the following events:
1) The date the vehicle is first put into commercial use
2) The date the vehicle is first registered for road use
3) The date of the contract of sale or otherwise when title in the vehicle has passed to a third party
not being an authorised dealer in Foton Passenger & Light Commercial’s dealer network.
Upon delivery of the vehicle, the Dealer is responsible for explaining the vehicle warranty and directing
the customer to the warranty information in the User Manual.
Each Dealer is responsible for providing prompt and efficient service for warranty repairs as detailed in
the Dealer Agreement.
Operations carried out under warranty do not extend this period, except for legal provisions to the
contrary. Parts or components fitted under warranty are only covered for the time remaining until expiry
of the vehicle's contractual warranty.
Technical information regarding Service News, Technical Bulletins and Campaign details will be Email
to the Dealer.
1.3 Owner’s Responsibilities
Under FOTON Limited Warranties the owner is responsible to:
Ensure proper use of the vehicle including maintenance (records are to be available upon
request) and care of the vehicle in accordance with the instructions contained in the Warranty
and Service Information booklet.
Ensure only the fuel and lubricants specified are used.
Ensure any defect or fault that arises covered by warranty are immediately rectified.
Ensure there are no vehicle appearance issues (trim, paint) at time of delivery.
Take the vehicle to an authorised FOTON Dealer in order to obtain warranty.
In the case where the servicing has been delayed by 1,000kms and/or 1-month the warranty may be void.
1.4 Warrantor
All warranty coverage outlined in this Warranty Policy & Procedures Manual and the Owners Warranty
& Service Information Booklet is valid for the vehicle’s warranty period (PV: 3 years / 100,000 kms or
LDT: 3 years / 160,000 kms) regardless of subsequent owners.
1.5 Force Majeure Exclusions
FOTON is not liable for any breach of warranty caused by or resulting from prohibition or restriction by
law or regulation of any government, fire, flood, storms, war, strike, lockout, or other labour troubles,
accident, riot, Acts of God, or others beyond the parties’ control.
1.6 Expressed Limited Warranties
The terms of each limited warranty are found in the Warranty Policy Procedure Manual and Owners
Warranty & Service Information Booklet.
1.7 Exclusions of All Other Warranties
FOTON considers only warranties outlined in this Manual to be covered.
1.8 Judgement of Warranties
FOTON reserves the right to furnish the final decisions in all warrantable matters.
