2. NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY

2.1 Warranty Period

The warranty period commences when the vehicle is first registered. The warranty period is:

 3 years / 100,000 kms (PV: Tunland, View, Sauvana)
 3 years / 160,000 kms (LDT: Aumark)

FOTON Dealers will make all necessary repairs using genuine FOTON parts purchased from FOTON
New Zealand, without charge to the customer.

 PLEASE NOTE: Cummins ISF engine warranty on Foton vehicles is covered by Cummins.
Please ensure that all Cummins ISF engine warranty repairs meet the Cummins warranty
requirements, including usage of genuine Cummins oil and coolant. All major Cummins ISF
engine warranty repairs (Overhauls) are undertaken by Cummins New Zealand at their HQ
facility in Manukau (Not the Foton dealer). As a result, Cummins NZ may require an oil sample
for a defective engine. All Cummins ISF engine claims are submitted directly to Foton NZ.

2.2 Breakdown Assistance

In the instance of a breakdown the customer may call Foton Passenger & Light Commercial Vehicle
Assist; in metro area’s the vehicle will be towed to the selling dealer; in rural area’s the vehicle will be
towed to the nearest dealer. Towing fees from an outside towing company cannot be claimed through
warranty and the cost will be borne by the customer. (Foton Roadside Assist 0800 TUNLAND – 0800

2.3 What is Covered

Any part originally installed by the factory to be found to have a manufacturing defect within the scope
of warranty, except for components specified in ‘What is Not Covered’ (refer 2.8).

2.4 Battery Limited Warranty

Batteries are covered for 6 months/10,000kms from the warranty start date.

All warranty battery replacements require a printed test report from a recognised battery tester, emailed
to warranty@foton.nz at the same time as the warranty claim is submitted.

2.5 After Shipment Limited Warranty

To prevent any quality deterioration due to long storage of the vehicle, the Dealer should sell the vehicles
to the retail customers within twelve (12) months from shipment by FOTON. If not sold, the vehicle is to
be registered as a Dealer demonstration vehicle (at Dealer’s cost) and then sold with the balance of new
car warranty.

2.6 Stock Vehicle Kilometre Limited Warranty (Pre-Delivery)

Pre-Delivery warranty is valid up to 100kms.

2.7 Obtaining Warranty Service

All authorised FOTON Dealers will provide warranty service at no charge to the customer.
