(d). Remove the water pump unit.
• Remove these 5 water pump unit fixing
bolts (arrow direction) and the water
pump unit.

(e). Take out the thermostat gasket.

20. Check the water pump unit
(a). Check the thermostat gasket.
• Check the thermostat gasket for wear and breakage; if any, immediately replace it.
(b). Check the thermostat housing subassembly.
Carefully check the thermostat housing subassembly. In any of following cases,
immediately replace the thermostat housing subassembly:
• Scratches of surface of thermostat housing subassembly;
• Unevenness of contact surface between the thermostat housing subassembly and
the water pump unit.
(C). Check the water pump unit.
Carefully check the water pump unit. In any of following
cases, immediately replace the water pump unit:
• Scratches of surface of water pump unit;
• Damages of impeller of water pump unit;
• Looseness of bearing of water pump unit;
• Abnormal running noise of water pump unit Damages of impeller of water pump
unit.
