these things (enumerated in the Baraytah) whether the intent was
for “good” or was or “bad” are known only within the heart (the
mind) of the individual who is speaking. Only the individual
himself knows if his intent was for good in all innocence, or for א"י קרֶֶפּ
bad to embarrass or shame someone else, as he can always claim
 – “I only meant to do good. I thought that he did have grain to
sell” or “I really did want to buy that.” (Rashi)
Furthermore, Chazal have said there (Gemara Babba Metziah
58b) that oppressive \ abusive “speech” is worse than oppressive
 the Torah says (Vayikrah 25:17) “and you shall fear your Gd,” ,םיִשָׁנֲא םִע תוּרְבַּחְתִהַה טֵעַמְל ךְירִָצ ,הרָיִמְשַּׁה תַבוֹח
but there is no comparable pasuk regarding abusive “business
 practices.” Moreover, one (i.e., hurtful speech) relates to a person’s
physical body and the other (i.e., monetary deceit) relates only to
 his money. One can be rectified (i.e., money can be returned) אָתיִא ןֵכְו .
 but the other cannot be rectified. The gemara further states that
a husband must constantly be careful not to use oppressive \
 abusive speech to his wife because she is very sensitive and can
 easily be brought to tears. Regarding this Chazal have also said
(Gemara Babba Metziah 59a) that all of the gateways to Heaven
 are locked except for the Gateway of Abuse \ oppression, as the הַמוּ ."
 pasuk states (Amos 7:7) “Behold, Hashem is standing on the wall תוֹרוֹהְל ,"וֹצְפֶח 'ה תרַוֹתְבוּ" רַמָא אלְֹו ,"םִא יִכּ" רַמָאֶשּׁ
(in strict judgment) of your “oppression \ abuse” and in His hand
 He is holding the means to collect “payment” from those who
 oppress others.” 42

 Our Authorities have further written that if a question arises that
requires knowledge and understanding; one may not ask that
 question to someone who is incapable of answering it.
not say to him, “What do you think about that?” and similarly in םָלוֹעְל :).
all comparable situations. The general rule to follow is that one
 may not say to a fellow Jew anything that would cause him pain וֹתוּרְבַּחְתִהְו .
 or anguish or sorrow.

It also seems that communicating abuse (does not mean only by
 use of verbal expression, but it also) includes written expression הַמוּ ."
 or hints (allusions \ veiled references) as well, if his intention בוּתָכַּה רַמֲאַמְכוּ .
