(4:2) “what are you holding in your hand?,” and his staff turned אלֲֹהַו ,םָתוּנָערְ ֻּפ י ּדַ םֶהָל ן ֵּתִל ןיִלוֹכְי וֹלּ ֻּכ םָלוֹעָה ל ָּכ ןיֵאְו
into a snake. Moreover, in that reference (4:6), “and his hand
was afflicted with Metzora’at (as white) as snow.” In perashat רֵּגַשׁ א ָּלֶא ;ַעיקִרָָל דַע ץרֶָאָה ןִמ אָטָח ערָָה ןוֹשָׁל לַע ַּב
Beshalach (Shemot 17:2) “and the nation contended against םיִמָתרְ יֵלֲחַּג יִּנ ֶּמִמ ל ֵּבקְַי ךְ ָּכ רַחַאְו ,ה ָּלִח ְּת הָלְעַמְלִמ ךָי ֶּצִח
Moshe,” and immediately adjoining that pasuk the Torah relates
(17:8) “and Amalek came and waged war against Israel.” In .):ו"ט ף ּדַ( ןיִכרֲָע ַּב ל"ַזֲח וּרְמָא הֶז ןיֵעְכוּ .ה ָּטַמ ְּלִמ
perashat Mishpatim (Shemot 23:1) “Do not issue a false report,” 8
which is addressing both one who speaks Lashon Hara and one וֹמ ְּכ ,ןוֹבְּשֶׁחְו ןי ּדִ ן ֵּתִל ךְירִָצ רוּסִּא לֶשׁ רוּבּ ּדִ ל ָּכ לַע .ד
who believes that same Lashon Hara as being the truth, as the דיִּגַמוּ" :)ג"י 'ד סוֹמָע( קוּס ָּפַה לַע ):'ה הָגיִגֲח( ל"ַזֲח וּרְמָאֶשׁ
gemara describes. After that it says “Do not follow the majority
to do evil.” In perashat Tehtzaveh, regarding the tunic worn by וֹתְּשִׁאְל שׁיִא ןי ֵּבֶשׁ ה ָּלקַ הָחיִשׂ וּלִּפֲא ,"וֹחֵשּׂ הַמ םָדָאְל
the Kohein Gadol (the Meh’eel), “there shall be a hem around
its entire (head) opening” (Shemot 28:32). That entire perasha .ןי ּדִַה תַעְשׁ ִּב םָדָאָל וֹל ןידִיִּגַמ
(is dealing with this subject) (Shemot 28:35) “and its sound
will be heard as the Kohein enters The Holy,” and this pasuk וֹמָלוֹע ד ֵּבַא ְּמֶשׁ םיִמָעְפִל ן ֵּמ ּדְַזִי וי ִּפ תַחיִת ְּפ ידְֵי לַע .ה

is a reference to speaking Lashon Hara as is related in Gemara וֹרֵבֲח יֵנ ְּפ ןי ִּבְל ַּמַה :).ט"נ אָעיִצְמ אָב ָּב( וּרְמָאֶשׁ וֹמ ְּכ ,ירְֵמַגְל
Arachin. (More) And also the entire parshyot of Tazre’ah and
Mehtzorah, the lesions that appear on the houses (of those who .א ָּבַה םָלוֹעָל קֶלֵח וֹל ןיֵא ,םי ִּברַ ָּב
speak Lashon Hara) and the lesions on the clothing and the lesions
on the physical body of the speaker of Lashon Hara. He will לַע הָאְמ ֻּטַה ַחוּר תֶכֶשְׁמִנ םירִוּסֲא םירִוּבּ ּדִ ידְֵי לַע .ו
sit totally isolated, far away from society (from the encampment אֵמְט שׁיִא י ִּכ" :)'ה ,'ו( הָיְעַשׁי ִּב בוּת ָּכֶשׁ וֹמְכוּ .םִיַתָפְשַּׂה
of Israel). His atonement are the birds that chirp incessantly,
alluding to his incessant speech (Lashon Hara) (Gemara Arachin לַע םַּג הָאְמ ֻּטַה תֶכֶשְׁמִּנֶשׁ הֶּזִמ רֵתוֹיְבוּ ."יִכֹנָא םִיַתָפְשׂ
15b), as the Torat Kohanim relates, that he (the Kohein) gives ארָקְִּיַו( ביִת ְּכ ערָֹצְמ לֶשׁ וֹתרֳָהָט תֵע ְּבֶשׁ ,הֶזָל תוֹאָהְו .וֹשׁארֹ
him words of admonishment “My son, lesions (Mehtzora’at)
appear only because of the sin of Lashon Hara. (Please see that שׁארֹ לַע ן ֵּתִי ןֵה ֹּכַה ף ַּכ לַע רֶשֲׁא ןֶמֶשּׁ ַּב רָתוֹנַּהְו" :)ח"י ד"י
reference). (More) In perashat Kedoshim (Vayikrah 19:16) “Do
not go and peddle gossip in society,” and (ibid., 19:17) “(Rebuke ךְרֵָטְצִּיֶשׁ ,םיִאֵמ ְּטַה לָכ ְּב ן ֵּכ וּניִצָמ אלֶֹּשׁ ,"'וֹגְו רֵה ַּט ִּמַה
your fellow Jew but) do not come to sin because of that,” which .וֹשׁארֹ רֵהַטְל
are addressing the sin of embarrassing someone. (More) And in
perashat Beh’Har (Vayikrah 2:17) “Do not oppress your fellow רַמֱאֶּנֶשׁ .ר ּקִָע ָּב רֵפוֹכּ וּלִּא ְּכ ,ערָָה ןוֹשָׁל ר ֵּפַסְמַה ל ָּכ .ז
Jew” which is addressing oppressive \ abusive speech which is
also Lashon Hara. (More) And in perashat Nasoh (Bamidbar וּנ ָּתִא וּניֵתָפְשׂ רי ִּבְגַנ וּנֵנֹשְּלִל וּרְמָא רֶשֲׁא" :)'ה ,ב"י םי ִּלִה ְּת(
5:2) “and you shall send out of the Encampment every person ."וּנָל ןוֹדָא יִמ
הָשׁלְֹשׁ דֶגֶנ ְּכ וֹנוֲֹע לי ּדְִגַמ ,ערָָה ןוֹשָׁל ר ֵּפַסְמַה ל ָּכ .ח
