 Driving us from the land—  .õÆøÈàÈä-ïÄîäÈìÈòÀå  but we forsee  eòÖêö−ÌêBþÐî

 Our Sages, however, explained it:  ,eLÐþÖðeòѳBaÔþÐî  Therefore, on that day, he (Pharaoh) issued a decree  óBiÔí B³Bê þÔïÖbCÖ×−ÌõÐñ
 [Pharoah spoke] as a person  óÖðÖêÐk  also regarding the Egyptians,  ,ó−ÌiÌþЮÌnÔíñÔ¼¹Ôê
 who expresses a curse about himself  BôЮԼñÑlÔšÐnÓL  as it is said: “Every son that will be born”  ,ðBlÌiÔíöÑaÔíñÖkþÔôÍêÓpÓL
 but attaches his curse to others.  12  ,ó−ÌþÑ ìÎêÔë B³ÖñÐñÌšíÓñB³Ðî  and it does not say: “that will be born to the Hebrews.”  ;ó−ÌþÐë̼Öñ ðBlÌiÔíþÔôÍêÓòêGÐî
 It is as if it had been written:  ,ëÔ³Ö× el−ÌêÐ× êeí −ÑþÎíÔî  They (the astrologers), however, did not know  ó−̼ÐðB− e−ÖíêGóÑíÐî
 “And we will go up out of the land  ±ÓþÖêÖíöÌô eò−ÌñÖ¼Ðî  that he (Moshe) was destined to be smitten  ³BšÐñÌñ BõBqÓL
 and they will inherit it.”  :ÖíeLÖþ−Ì−óÑíÐî  by the waters of Meriva. 65  :íÖë−ÌþÐô−ÑôñÔ¼

 [Meaning:] upon the nation. 13  :óÖ¼ÖíñÔ¼  He (Amram) had separated from her  íÖpÓnÌôíÖ−Öí LeþÖt
 Conscription officers.  .íéÄqÄî  due to Pharaoh’s decree  12  ,íÒ¼ÐþÔt³ÔþÑïÐè−ÑòÐtÌô
 [ó−ÌqÌô] is derived from the word ½Ôô— tribute.  ,½Ôô öBLÐñ  and he [now] took her back  dÖþ−ÌïÍìÓíÐî
 [Thus, ó−ÌqÌô−ÑþÖN are] officers who collect tribute from them.  ,½ÔnÔíóÓíÑôö−ÌëBbÓLó−ÌþÖN  and married her a second time.  ,ó−ÌiÌòÐLö−ÌìewÌñdÖëíÖNÖ¼Ðî
 And what is the tribute?  ?½ÔnÔíeíÔôe  She, too, became youthful again.  .íÖþμÔò ³B−ÐíÌñíÖ×ÐõÓíÓòê−Ìí¹ÔêÐî
 That they build warehouse [storage] cities for Pharaoh.  :íÒ¼ÐþÔõÐñ ³BòÐkнÌô−ÑþÖ¼eòÐëÌiÓL  [Actually] she was 130 years old,  ,íÖ³Ð−ÖííÖòÖL ñ"š ³Ôëe
