                   that the one who collects for half damages  BšÐïÌò−Ì®ÎìóÑlÔzÐLÌnÔíÓL
 and acquired a master for himself,  ,BôЮԼÐñ öBðÖêíÖòÖšÐî
                          we evaluate the carcass for him  ,íÖñÑëÐpÔí³ÓêBñö−ÌôÖL

                           and whatever loss he incurred  î−ÖôÖðe³ÎìÔtÓLíÔôe
 Rabbi Shimon expounded this verse  íÓïêÖþКÌôLÑþBð íÖ−Öí öB¼ÐôÌL−ÌaÔþ
                          due to the death [of the animal]  íÖ³−ÌnÔíñ−ÌëÐLÌa
 in a beautiful manner: 41  ,þÓôBì ö−ÌôÐ×  he takes half the value of his loss 256  ³ÖìÐtÔí−Ì®ÎìñѬBò
 Why are the door and the doorpost different from  íÖïeïÐôe ³ÓñÓðepÔzÐLÌòíÔô  and goes on his way. 257  .CÑñBíÐî

                           to the extent of its own worth.  ,BõebÌôêÖlÓê

                  Andifit(the óÔz) gored and died afterwards,  ,³Ñôe ìÔèÖòóÌêÐî
 ‘For to me are the B’nei Yisrael servants’”  ó−ÌðÖëμñÑêÖþÐNÌ−−ÑòÐë−Ìñ−Ìk  the damaged party gets only the carcass  ,íÖñÑëÐpÔíêÖlÓêñѬBò šÖf−Ìòö−Ñê
 —they are My servants, not servants of servants,  ó−ÌðÖëμÔñó−ÌðÖëμêGÐîóÑí−ÔðÖëμZ
                       and if [the carcass] does not amount  ³Ô¼ÔbÔôdÖò−Ñ êóÌêÐî
 and this person went ahead  íÓïCÔñÖíÐîZ
                     to half his damages, he suffers the loss.  .ð−̽ÐõÔ−BšÐïÌò−Ì®ÎìÔñ
 and acquired a master for himself,  ,BôЮԼÐñ öBðÖêíÖòÖšÐî
                                Or, if an ox worth 100  íÓòÖôíÓîÖL þBL Bê
 he shall [have his ear] pierced in their presence. 42  :óÓí−ÑòÐõÌa¼Ô®ÖþÑ−  gored an ox worth 500 zuz,  ,ïeï ³BêÑôLÑôÎìíÓîÖL þBL ìÔèÖpÓL

 He then serves his master forever.  .íÞÈìÉòÀì BãÈáÂòÞÇå  he (the injured party) gets no more than the ox, 258  ,þBMÔí³ÓêêÖlÓêñѬBò Bò−Ñê
 [This means] until yovel (the Jubilee year).  ;ñÑëBiÔíðÔ¼  for the owner of a óÔz is not responsible to pay  óÑlÔLÐñ î−ÖñÖ¼Ða³Óêë−ÑiÔìÐñóÖzÔíë−ÑiÔìгÌòêHÓL
 Or perhaps it means forever  óÖñB¼ÐñêÖlÓê Bò−ÑêBê  from his other properties. 259 260  :íÖiÌñμÖíöÌô

                                 that it is a goring ox,  ,êeí ìÖbÔò þBL −Ìk
 This does not mean that he serves him  BðÐëB¼ êÑíÐiÓLêGÐî
            [having gored] today, yesterday, and the day before,  ,óÒLÐñÌL ñBôÐzÌôe óBiÔí
 for the entire fifty years,  ,íÖòÖLó−ÌM−ÌôÎìñÖk  thereby establishing three gorings. 261  :³Bì−ÌèÐòLñÖL−ÑþÎí
 but rather he serves him till the Jubilee, 44  ,ñÑëBiÔíðÔ¼BðÐëB¼ êÖlÓê

                           [Meaning:] full compensation.  :óÑñÖLšÓïÑò
