 31. Terach took his son, Avram, B†òÐaó¤ÖþÐëÔê-³ÓêìÔþ‚Ózì¶ÔwÌiÔî .êñ  will I demand an account of man’s soul. :óÞÖðÖêÞÖíLÓõ'Óò-³ÓêL£þÐðÓê
 and Lot, the son of Haran, his grandson, BflòÐa-öÓa·öÖþÖí-öÓa¬B¥ñ-³ÓêÐî  6. He who spills the blood of man, ó flÖðÖêÞÖíó¤Ôc·CÑõÒL.î
 and Sarai, his daughter-in-law, B fl³ÖlÔk−¤ÔþÖN·³ÑêÐî  through man shall his blood be spilled, C¢ÑõÖMÌ−B¤ôÖcó£ÖðÖêÞÖa
 the wife of his son, Avram. B¢òÐaó¤ÖþÐëÔê³ÓL£Ñê  for in the image of Elohim, He made man. :óÞÖðÖêÞÖí-³Óêí£ÖNÖ¼ó− flÌíGÍêóÓñ¤Ó®Ða−Ìkƒ

 [When] they came to Charan [however], ö£ÖþÖì-ðÔ¼eê'ÒëÖiÔî  “He is ruled 204  as cattle,” 205  ,eôÐðÌò ³BôÑíÐaÔkñÔLÐôÌò
            it was, therefore, necessary for their sake to warn  öÓí−Ññμþ−ÌíÐïÔíÐñCÔþЮeí CÖ×−ÌõÐñ

 32. The lifetime of Terach was ìÔþ flÓ³-−ÑôÐ−e¤−ÐíÞÌiÔî .ëñ

                [Meaning:] that he loves him like a brother  ìÖêÐkBñëÑíBê êeíÓL
 [29] Yiskah.  .äÈkÀñÄé [èë]  and killed him accidentally,  ,èÑèBL BèÖþÎíÔî
 This was Sarah. [she was so called]  ,íÖþÖNBï
         I will require [retribution] if he does not go into exile  íÓñÐèÌ−êGóÌê LBþÐðÓê−ÌòÎê
 because she could see 335  the future  íÖ×BqÓLóÑLñÔ¼
                    and pray for the forgiveness of his sin,  ,ñÑìÖn−Ìñ BòBμñÔ¼LÑwÔë−Ìî
 through Divine inspiration,  ,LÓðBwÔíÔìeþÐa
         for even an accidental [murder] requires atonement.  .íÖþÖtÔkC−ÌþÖ®èÑèBMÔí¹ÔêÓL
 and because all would gaze at her beauty.  .dÖ−ÐõÖ−Ðaö−Ì×B½ ñÒkÔíÓLÐî  If there are no witnesses  ó−ÌðѼö−ÑêóÌêÐî
 Alternately, íÖkнÌ− is from the root meaning princely—³e×−̽Ðò,  ,³e×−̽Ðò öBLÐñíÖkнÌ− :ðB¼Ðî
                           to make him liable for exile,  ³eñÖè Bë−Ð iÔìÐñ
 just as íÖþÖN is from the root meaning ruling—íÖþÖþÐN.  :íÖþÖþÐN öBLÐñíÖþÖNBôÐk
                       and he does not humble himself,  ,¼ÖòÐ×Ìò Bò−Ñê êeíÐî
 [31] With them he departed. 336  .íÈzÄàeàÀöÅiÇå [àì]
                  God will require [retribution] from him,  ,epÓnÌôLÑþBc í"ÖaÖwÔí
 Terach and Avram went forth  óÖþÐëÔêÐîìÔþÓ³eêЮÑiÔî
                     as our Sages expounded [the verse:]  ,eò−ѳBaÔþeLÐþÖcÓLBôÐ×
 along with Lot and Sarai. 337  :−ÖþÖNÐî ¬Bñ ó̼
                “And God caused it to come to his hand,” 207  ,BðÖ−ÐñíÖpÌêó−ÌíGÍêÖíÐî
 [32] Terach died in Charan. 338  .ïÈøÈçÀaçÇøÆzúÈîÈiÇå [áì]  in Maseches Makkos 208  ,³BkÔô³Ó×ÓqÔôÐa
 [He died] after Avram had already left Charan  öÖþÖìÑôóÖþÐëÔêêÖ®ÖiÓLþÔìÔêÐñ  209
            God causes them  to meet in the same inn, etc.  :’î×î ðÖìÓêšÖcÐòeõÐñöÖòÐnÔïÐôí"ÖaÖwÔí
 and had arrived in the Land of Canaan,  ,öÔ¼ÔòÐk±ÓþÓêÐñêÖëe
            [6] Through man shall his blood be spilled.  .CÅôÈMÄéBîÈcíÈãÈàÈa [å]
 and had already been there more than sixty years.  .íÖòÖLó−ÌMÌMÌôþѳB− óÖLíÖ−ÖíÐî
                       [Meaning:] if there are witnesses  ,ó−ÌðѼLÑ−óÌê
 For it is written,  :ëe³Ö×−ÑþÎíÓL
 “And Avram was 75 years old  íÖòÖLó−̼ÐëÌLÐîó−ÌòÖLLÑôÖìöÓaóÖþÐëÔêÐî  then you must kill him. Why?  ?íÖnÖñ,óÓzÔê eíe³−ÌôÎí
