                                     “I also know ·−Ìzм¶ÔðÖ−−¥Ì×ÒòÞÖêó¤Ôb                      22. The men turned from where they were, ó− flÌLÖòÎêÞÖí·óÖMÌôe¥òÐõÌiÔî .ë×
               that you did this with an innocent heart. ³êflÒfÖ³−¤ÌNÖ¼·EÐëÞÖëÐñ-óÖ³Ðë−¥Ìk                     and went toward Sedom. íÖô¢Òðнe£×ÐñÞÑiÔî
           I also prevented you from sinning against Me. −¢Ìñ-B¬ÎìÞÑô £EгB Þê−§Ì×ÒòÞÖê-óÔbC «NÐìÓêÞÖî  Avraham was still standing before Adonoy. :íÞÖBíÐ−−'ÑòÐõÌñð£ÑôÒ¼ep'ÓðB¼ ó flÖíÖþÐë¶ÔêÐî
               That is why I did not give you the chance E−£ÌzÔ³Ðò-ê ÞGö'Ñk-ñÔ¼

                                                                                         Which has come to Me is indicative of their conduct.  .eNÈòéÇìÅàäÈàÈaÇä
        7. “Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet. êe flíê−¤ÌëÖò-−ÞÌk·L−ÌêÖí-³Ó LÞÑêë¥ÑLÖíí †ÖzÔ¼Ðî.ï
                                                                                                    And [if] they maintain their rebelliousness  ,óÖcÐþÌôÐaó−ÌðÐôB¼ öÑ×Ðî
                 He will pray for you and you will live. í¢Ñ−ÐìÞÓî £EÐðÔ¼ÞÔañ'ÑlÔtгÌ−Ðî                       I will make an end of them.  ,óÓíÖëíÓNB¼ −ÌòÎêíÖñÖk
                            If you do not return her, ë− flÌLÑô ¤EÐò−ÞÑê-óÌêÐî                 But, “if [they do] not” maintain their rebelliousness  öÖcÐþÌôÐëeðÐôÔ¼Ô−êGóÌêÐî
             you should know that you will surely die— ³e flôÖz³B¤ô-−Ìk¼Ôcƒ                                     “I will know” what to do 128  íÓNͼÓêíÖôíÖ¼ÐðÑê
                           you and all that is yours.” :CÞÖñ-þÓLÎê-ñÖ×ÐîíÖ£zÔê                      as to punishing them [only] with suffering  ,ö−ÌþeqÌ−ÐaöÓíÑô¼ÔþÖtÌíÐñ
                                                                                                          so that I [need] not destroy them.  .öÖ³Bê íÓlÔ×ÎêêGÐî
              8. Avimelech got up early in the morning, þÓš†ÒaÔaCÓñ‚Óô−ÌëÎêó¶ÑkÐLÔiÔî.ì
                                                                                                          Similarly we find in another place,  :þÑìÔê óBšÖôÐë eò−Ì®ÖôBëêÑ®BiÔ×Ðî
                          and called all his servants. î− flÖðÖëμ-ñÖ×Ðñ·êÖþКÌiÔî                 “Now, remove your ornaments from yourself  E−ÓñÖ¼ÑôEÐ−ÐðÓ¼ðÑþBí íÖzÔ¼Ðî
                 He spoke all these words in their ears, ó¢Ó í−ÑòÐïÖêÐaíÓl£ÑêÖíó−'ÌþÖëÐcÔí-ñÖk-³Óêþ§ÑaÔðÐ−Ôî  so that I may know what to do to you.” 129  :CÖlíÓNͼÓêíÖôíÖ¼ÐðÑêÐî

                                                                                                  [as referring to] the cry of a certain maiden 132  ³ÔìÔêíÖë−Ìþ³ÔšÎ¼Ô®

                                                                                                      whom they killed with a horrible death  íÖòeLÐôíÖ³−ÌôÐaÖíebÖþÎíÓL
         “It is true that at first you had no intention of sinning,  ,êB¬ÎìÔñíÖlÌìÐzÌôÖ³−ÌnÌðêHÓL³ÓôÍê
                                                                                                       because she gave food to a poor person  ,−ÌòÖ¼Óñ öBïÖôíÖòгÖpÓLñÔ¼
                but, do not claim clean hands [because. . .].  :öêÔkö−ÑêóÌ−ÔtÔk öB−КÌòñÖëÎê

                            that you did not touch her,  ,dÖaÖzмÔèÖòêHÓL
               but, it was I who prevented you from sinning  êB¬ÎìÑôEгBê −ÌòÎê−ÌzÐ×ÔNÖìêÖlÓê   Avraham was still standing before Adonoy.  .'ä éÅðÀôÄìãÅîBò epÆãBò íÈäÈøÀáÇàÀå
                         by not giving you the strength.  ,ÔìÒkEÐñ−ÌzÔ³ÖòêGÐî                      But is it not so that he [Avraham] did not go  CÔñÖíêGêGÎíÔî
               Similarly: 297  “And Elohim did not let him” 298  ,ó−ÌíGÍêBòÖ³ÐòêGÐî:öÑ×Ðî                          to stand before Him?  ,î−ÖòÖõÐñ ðBôμÔñ

                                                                                          “The wailing concerning Sedom and Amorah is so great,”  ,íÖaÖþ−ÌkíÖþBôμÔî óBðн³ÔšÎ¼Ôï
                                  And do not think  þeëÖ½êÑíÐzñÔêÐî
                                                                                                           and it should have been written:  ëBzÐ×ÌñBñíÖ−ÖíÐî
                 lest she has become repugnant in his eyes  î−Öò−ѼÐëíÓpÔbгÌzêÖôÓL
                                                                                                    “God was still standing near Avraham,” 135  ?"óÖíÖþÐëÔêñÔ¼ðÑôB¼ epÓðB¼ ’íÔî"
                       and he will not accept her [back]  íÖpÓñÐaÔšÐ−êGÐî
             or that he will hate you and not pray for you. . .  .E−ÓñÖ¼ñÑlÔtгÌ−êGÐîDÓêÖòÐNÌ−Bê
