 17. The man did as Yoseif said, ¹¢Ñ½B− þ¤ÔôÖêþ£ÓLÎêÞÔkL− flÌêÖíNÔ¼¤ÔiÔî .ï−  If I have been bereft of my children, −ÌzÐñ£Ò×ÖLþ'ÓLÎêÞÔk−–ÌòÎêÞÔî
 and the man brought the men ó−£ÌLÖòÎêÞÖí-³ÓêL−§ÌêÖíê'ÑëÖiÔî  I will be bereft. :−ÌzÐñÞÖ×ÖL
 to the house of Yoseif. :¹ÞѽB− íÖ³−'Ña  15. The men took that offering, ³êflÕfÔíí¤ÖìÐòÌnÔí-³Óê·ó−ÌLÖòÎêÞÖíe¥ìКÌiÔî .î¬
 18. The men were afraid ó− †ÌLÖòÎêÞÖíe¤êÐþ−ÞÌiÔî .ì−  and they took double money in their hands, ó£ÖðÖ−Ðëe'ìКÞÖñ¹Ó½§Ók-íÓòÐLÞÌôe
 because they had been brought to Yoseif’s house, ›¹Ñ½B− ³−¤Ña ‡eêÐëe Þí−¤Ìk  and [they took] Binyamin. ö¢ÌôÖ−ÐòÌa-³ÓêÐî
 and they said, “Because of the money ·¹Ó½¶ÓkÔíþ¥ÔëÐc-ñÔ¼e†þÐôêÞÒiÔî  They rose and went down to Egypt, óÌ− flÔþЮÌôe¤ðÐþÞÑiÔî·eô¶ŠšÖiÔî
 that was returned in our bags previously í fl ÖlÌìÐzÔa·eò−¶Ñ³ÒìÐzÐôÔêÐaë¥ÖMÔí  and they stood before Yoseif. :¹ÞѽB− −'ÑòÐõÌñe£ðÐôÔ¼ÞÔiÔî
 are we being brought [here]; ó−¢ÌêÖëe ÞôeòÐì£ÔòÎê  Shishi (Sixth Aliyah)  éùù

 In this instance Onkelos translates [óÌ−ÔþÏíÖvÔa as] êÖ³eþ−ÑLÐa  ,êÖ³eþ−ÑLÐaóÖbÐþe³ÐôíÓï
 which, in Aramaic, means the first meal,  ,−ÌnÔþÎê öBLÖñÐaíÖòBLêÌþíÖðe¼Ð½ öBLÐñ êeíÓL  for these men shall dine with me at noon. :óÌ−ÞÖþÏíÞÖvÔaó−£ ÌLÖòÎêÞÖíe'ñÐ×êÞÒ−−§ÌzÌê−'Ìk

 eêÐþ−Ì−Ôî is spelled with two ö−ð"î− [yuds]  ,ö−"Ìðe− −ÑòÐLÌë êeí ëe³Ök  I will be bereft.  éÄzÀìÈëÈL
 and Onkelos, therefore, translates it:  BôebÐþÔ³Ðî  Of Binyomin.  :ö−ÌôÖ−ÐòÌaÌô
 “They were afraid.” 111  :eñ−ÌìÐðe  [15] And [they took] Binyamin.  .ïéÄîÈéÀðÄaúÆàÀå [åè]
 Because they had been brought to Yoseif’s House.  .óÅñBé úéÅá eàÀáeä éÄk  Onkelos translates it ö−ÌôÖ−ÐòÌa³Ö−eþÖëÐðe—they took Binyomin  ,ö−ÌôÖ−ÐòÌa³Ö−eþÖëÐðe öÖò−ÌôÐbÐþÔ³Ðô
 And it was unusual for others who came to buy grain  þÖa þBaÐLÌñó−ÌêÖaÔíþÖêÐLCÓþÓcö−ÑêÐî  because the taking of money is not  ¹Ó½ÓkÔí³Ôì−ÌšÐñö−ÑêÓL−ÌõÐñ
 to stay overnight at Yoseif’s house  ,¹Ñ½B− ³−ÑëÐa öeñÖñ  the same as the taking of a person in Aramaic.  .−ÌnÔþÎê öBLÖñÐëíÖîÖLóÖðÖêÖí³Ôì−ÌšÐñe
 but, rather, at the inns of the city.  :þ−̼ÖaÓL ³BêÖšÐcÐòeõÐaóÌê−Ìk  Something that is actually taken in the hand  ,ðÖiÔaìÖšÌpÔíþÖëÖðÐa
 They were, therefore, afraid that this  íÓïö−ÑêÓLeêÐþ−ÌiÔî  is translated as ë−̽Ðòe,  ,ë−̽Ðòe öÖò−ÌôÐbÐþÔ³Ðô
 was solely for the purpose of imprisoning them.  :þÖôÐLÌôñÓêóÖõнÖêÐñêÖlÓê  whereas, something taken by persuasion [i.e., led away]  ,ó−ÌþÖëÐc³ÔèÖíÐòÔíÐaìÖwÌpÔíþÖëÖðÐî
 Are we being brought.  .íéÄàÈáeî eðÀçÇðÂà  is translated as þÔëÐðe [from þea−Ìð—speaking]. 107  :þÔëÐðe öÖò−ÌôÐbÐþÔ³Ðô
 Into this house.  :íÓïÔí³Ì−ÔaÔí CBz ñÓê  [16] Slaughter an animal and prepare it.  .ïÅëÈäÀåçÇáÆèÇçÉáÀèe [æè]
 That he may turn [on us].  .ìÅìÉbÀúÄäÀì  [ÔìBëЬe and öÑ×ÖíÐî are infinitives] the same as:  BôÐk
 That there should be turned upon us  eò−ÑñÖ¼³ÓñÓbÐñÔbгÌô ³B−ÐíÌñ  and to slaughter an animal and to prepare.  ,ö−Ì×ÖíÐñe ìÔëÓ¬ÔìBaЬÌñÐî
 an accusation regarding the money  ¹Ó½ÓkÔí³Ôñ−Ìñμ  Ô ìBëЬ is not an imperative  ,−eeÌ® öBLÐñÔìBëЬö−ÑêÐî
 and that [this accusation] come down on us.  ,eò−ÑñÖ¼³ÓñÓõBò dÖ³B−ÐíÌñÐî  for then it should have said ìÔëЬe. 108  :ìÔëЬe þÔôBñ Bñ íÖ−ÖíÓL
 According to Onkelos who translates [eò−ÑñÖ¼ñÑtÔòгÌíÐñe]  óÑbÐþÌzÓL ½eñКÐòeêÐî
