                        31. Yoseif said to his brothers ·î−ÖìÓê-ñÓ깥ѽB− þÓôê¶ÒiÔî .êñ                       8. Pharaoh said to Yaakov, ë¢ÒšÎ¼ÞÔ−-ñÓêí£Ò¼ÐþÔtþÓôê'ÒiÔî.ì
                        and to his father’s household, î− flÌëÖê³−¤Ña-ñÓêÐî                          “How many are the years of your life?” :E−ÞÓiÔì−'ÑòÐL−£ÑôÐ−í–ÖnÔk
                        “I will go up and tell Pharaoh. í¢Ò¼ÐþÔõÐñíÖð−¤ÌbÔêÐîí£ÓñͼÞÓê                        9. Yaakov said to Pharaoh, í flÒ¼ÐþÔt-ñÓê·ëҚμÞÔ−þÓôê¥ÒiÔî.¬
                                  I will say to him, î− †ÖñÑêí¤ÖþÐô ÞÒêÐî                           “The years of my temporary residence − flÔþeèÐô−¤ÑòÐL·−ÑôÐ−
               ‘My brothers and my father’s household, −§ÌëÖê-³−Ñëe −«ÔìÔê                              are one hundred and thirty years. í ¢ÖòÖL³£ÔêÐôe ó−'ÌLñÐL
                     who were in the land of Canaan, öÔ¼£ÔòÐk-±ÓþÞÓêÐaþ'ÓLÎê                                     Few and troublesome ó− †Ì¼ÖþÐԼÐô
                                 have come to me. :−ÞÖñÑêeê'Öa                                             have been the days of my life. −flÔiÔì−¤ÑòÐL·−ÑôÐ−·e−Öí
                         32. The men are shepherds, öê flÒ®−Ѽ¤Òþ·ó−ÌLÖòÎêÞÖíÐî .ëñ                                 I have not attained eè− †ÌOÌíê¤GÐî
                      for they are owners of livestock. e¢−Öíí£ÓòКÌô−'ÑLÐòÔê-−ÞÌk                         the years of my father’s lives, − flÔ³ÒëÎê−¤ÑiÔì·−ÑòÐL·−ÑôÐ−-³Óê
                            Their sheep, their cattle, ó§ÖþÖšÐëe ó«ÖòêÒ®Ðî                        in the days of their temporary residence.” :óÞÓí−ÑþeÞèÐô−£Ñô−Ìa
                           and all their possessions, ó£ÓíÖñþ'ÓLÎê-ñÖ×Ðî                                    10. Yaakov blessed Pharaoh, í¢Ò¼ÐþÔt-³Óêë£ÒšÎ¼ÞÔ−CÓþ'ÖëÐ−Ôî.−
                     they have brought [with them.]’ :eê−ÞÌëÑí

                   and says, ‘What is your occupation,’ :óÞÓ×−ÑNμÞÔn-íÔôþ£ÔôÖêÐî                                    Over my [herds].  .éÄìøÆLÂàìÇò
                                                                                                                       Over my sheep.  :−ÌlÓLöêÒ®ñÔ¼
                                34 You should say, ó †ÓzÐþÔôÎêÞÔî .ðñ
                                                                                                              [7] And Yaakov blessed.  .áÉ÷ÂòÇéCÅøÈáÀéÇå [æ]
              ‘Your servants have been livestock owners ·E−¶ÓðÖëμe¥−Öíí‚ÓòКÌô− ¶ÑLÐòÔê
                                                                                                         This was a greeting, as is customary  CÓþÓðÐk ,óBñÖL³Ôñ−ÌêÐLê−Ìí
                          from our youth until now, íÖz flÔ¼-ðÔ¼Ðî eò−¤Ñþe¼ÐpÌô                     for all who periodically appear before kings,  ,ó−ÌšÖþÐõÌñó−Ì×ÖñÐnÔí−ÑòÐõÌñó−ÌêÐþÌpÔíñÖk
                               we and our fathers;’ eò−¢Ñ³ÒëÎê-óÔbeòÐì£ÔòÎê-óÔb                                  saluder [to greet] in O.F.  :ïÔ¼ÔñÐa þ−ê"îñ¾
                             so that you will be able þe†ëμÞÔa                                  [9] The years of the temporary residence.  .éÇøeâÀîéÅðÀL [è]
                       to settle in the land of Goshen, öÓLflb±Óþ¤ÓêÐa·eëÐLÞÑz                  [−ÔþeèÐô−ÑòÐL means:] the years of my being a stranger.  ;−̳eþÑè−ÑôÐ−
                                                                                               [I.e.,] all my life I have been a stranger in the land.  :±ÓþÖêÐaþÑb−̳−Ì−Öí−ÔôÖ−ñÖk

                                I will die but once. 62  :³ÖìÓêóÔ¼ÔtêÖlÓê ³eôÖêêG
                                                                                              As is customary for those who take leave of royalty,  ,ó−ÌþÖN−ÑòÐõÌlÌôó−ÌþÖ¬ÐõÌpÔíñÖkCÓþÓðÐk
               [31] I will say to him, my brothers, etc.  .'åâå éÇçÇàåéÈìÅàäÈøÀîÉàÀå [àì]               they bless them and take their leave.  .³eLÐþ ó−ÌñЬBòÐîóÖ³Bê ó−Ì×ÐþÖëÐô
                              And I will also tell him:  ,Bñ þÔôBê ðB¼Ðî                                    What blessing did he give him?  ?B×ÎþÑaíÖ×ÖþÐaíÔôe
                         “The men are shepherds, etc.”  :’îèî öêÒ®−ѼÒþó−ÌLÖòÎêÖíÐî                     That the Nile rise as he approached it.  ,î−ÖñÐèÔþÐñ ½eñ−ÌòíÓñμÔiÓL
                 [34] So that you will be able to settle  eáÀLÅz øeáÂòÇa [ãì]                   [This blessing was welcome to Pharaoh] because  −ÌõÐñ
                             in the Land of Goshen.  .ïÆLb õÆøÆàÀa                                 the Land of Egypt is not watered by rainfall,  ,ó−ÌôÖLÐè−ÑôíÖ³BL óÌ−ÔþЮÌôö−ÑêÓL
                     And it [the land] is what you require  ,óÓ×ÖñíÖ×−ÌþЮê−ÌíÐî                   but, rather, by the Nile rising and irrigating.  ,dÖšÐLÔôe íÓñB¼ ½eñ−ÌòêÖlÓê
                          because it is a land of pasture.  ,íÓ¼ÐþÌô±ÓþÓêê−ÌíÓL                       From the time that Yaakov blessed him,  CÖñ−ÑêÐîëҚμÔ−ñÓLB³Ö×ÐþÌaÌôe
                              And when you tell him  ,Bñ eþÐôêÒzÓLÐ×e                                      Pharaoh would come to the Nile  ,½eñ−ÌòñÓêêÖëíÒ¼ÐþÔõíÖ−Öí

      62  According to the plain meaning óÔ¼ÖtÔí means: at this time.
