The following is the summary of the observation gathered from the English Language Program conducted.
TRAINING OBJECTIVE
Focuses on improving the students’ conversational skill, perception of the language and pronunciation. The goal is to
increase their proficiency of the English language and to be able to spontaneously react and speak the language.
TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Student based approach is used to deliver lessons through activities and discussions to increase engagement. A combination
of activities and worksheet exercises are used to diversify content deliver. Multiple learning techniques are used for increased
absorption of lessons.
LEVEL OF INTEREST FROM THE PARTICIPANTS
Level of interest is generally medium to high. Activities with high instruction content make the students less interested as their
proficiency is insufficient to comprehend what is required of them. Once they understood (by translation) they switch gear
and are able to complete their tasks.
CORPORATION AND PARTICIPATION FROM THE PARTICIPANTS
Level of cooperation and participation are high. The students are engaged and will assist each other to handle tasks given.
A minority trailed behind due to their low proficiency of the language. However, through guidance by lecturer and peers,
they are able to complete their tasks though at an extended period of time.
CONCLUSION
Most students were able to improve their pronunciation of words and increase their confidence in speaking through
discussion, activities, increase their vocabulary bank and increase their confidence in using the language.
