Local Activities
Recreation supplies were delivered to Covid-19
patients at Mt. Sinai West, in New York City. This
was an attempt to help fill the loneliness of patients
who are recovering from the virus.
Thanks to donations from East New York’s FVDGE Anthony Cochran
Caterina’s Pizzeria, 200 pizza lunches were served Bklyn Gardens Staff is delighted with gifts from Bed Stuy
to First Responders at Brookdale Hospital Center in
Brooklyn. This initiative was led by Lion DeCosta
Headley and Eddie Di Benedetto, Proprietor of
Caterina’s Pizzeria. Lion Headley, a former District
Leader is founder of D.R.E.A.M. Foundation. We
celebrate the care that First Responders provide for
the community. We work together. WE SERVE.
Lunch was also provided for a special Covid-19
unit of approximately 75 people at Kingsbrook
Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. They
enjoyed receiving the meal and thanked us for our
unwavering generosity and thoughtfulness.
A “soul food” meal was prepared for 150 First
Responders at Brooklyn Gardens Nursing and Lunch from Bed Stuy to DG Debbie’s visit to Brooklyn Bedford Stuyvesant, DG in center
Rehabilitation Center. This location has been the Kingsbrook Jewish Med. Ctr. VDG Anthony is far right.
“Lions’ Den” for club meeting for many years, up
to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Club’s annual mon-
etary donation was also presented.
Last February, our Club warmly welcomed District
Governor Deborah Harrison to our General Meet-
ing. It was her official visit. She shared her person-
al goals as District Governor, as well as goals for us
as a club.
We had a fantastic meeting and a delicious dinner,
with a festive blue and yellow table setting. We
presented the Governor with two gifts. She present-
ed Monarch Chevron Awards to Lions Benjamin Lion Lottie Shannon in South Africia
Sabir and James Lipscomb. Everyone enjoyed and
had fun. Missouri Avenue School in Soweto
Special Congratulations to Lions Janice LaCroix
and Shirley Maddox who recently received their
CERTIFIED VISION SCREENER Certificate from
KidSight USA Foundation.
International Activities
Brooklyn Bedford Stuyvesant Lions Club interna-
tional community activities reach all the way to
Africa. The Club supports the Missouri Avenue
School in Soweto, South Africa and made a mone-
tary donation on June 2, 2020.
