I quote our International President Dr. Naresh Aggarwal, “NAMASTE! The
divine in me salutes the divine in you.” One of my goals this year is more service in our communities.
I feel when we give service in our communities our communities will join our clubs and help serve. We plan to reward retention of members; hence keeping the focus on our existing members.
The number of Lions members and clubs that have given to 2-X1 Charities, Inc. in the name of Hurricane Harvey is phenomenal. If you or your club have not donated, please do so. Make your check out to 2-X1 Charities to be used for Hurricane Harvey only.
If each Lions, Club President will set the goal to leave their community a better place than the year before and serve more people we have done our jobs. This is an exciting time to be a Lion as we serve 100 years. As we enter our second century of service, let’s go back to MY Club-My Family.
Training is another goal I have. If we know WHY we do things, it helps us to understand and gives us the will to do them. As you know October is membership month and we are -89 in membership for the year. Keep up the service in your community and they will join. The New Club Growth Team, PDG Wayne, Lion Gloria, Satyan, Joe Kyle, Danny, Fred and many others are working on a branch club in Mesquite and increasing the membership in Dallas Women’s Club.
Before I close, I like to thank the District Leader Dog Chairperson Lion Ryan Jaquess. I receive a letter from a visually impaired person which he helped to be empowered with this generous gift her dog Rolex. When speaking of her Leader Dog, Rolex, Keila
explained. “He never ceases to amaze me. His work ethic, loyalty, and sweet yet quirky personality capture my heart completely.
