Meteorology

                3.11.5.2 CAVOK and SPECI

If MET visibility is 10 km or more and there are no clouds below 5000 feet or

the highest minimum sector height, whichever is higher, and there are no

weather phenomena or CBs (points 4,6,7), the term CAVOK (ceiling and
                visibility OK) can be used.

If there is information about the weather within the last hour, it is indicated
after the QNH as Rexx, where xx is the type of weather indicated under point

                6.

Wind shear from the runway and up to 1600 feet of importance to aviation

operations is indicated as WS RWY09.

If changes occur to the METAR, a SPECI is issued.

                3.11.5.3 MET REPORT and SPECI

METAR, when issued by the local ATS unit to aircraft during approach, take-off

and landing, is called a MET REPORT.

Changes to the MET REPORT are called SPECI.

                3.11.5.4 METAR from automatic observations

As development progresses, changes are being made to the equipment

available at airports. A lot of automation has been introduced at the weather

centers at airports, which makes life easier for the weather service.

Here you can see examples of automatically generated METAR for EKAH and

EKEB (auto) (above METAR for EKKA, where a meteorologist sits and enters

                numbers).
