Meteorology

The maximum validity of a SNOWTAM is 8 hours. After that, if no new

SNOWTAM has been issued after the previous one, it is assumed that the

                runway condition is DRY.

In places with limited duty hours or not always, you can take the above for
                granted. So be careful.

This day, 20.11.2024, there was a SNOWTAM for EKKA:

You can also find SNOWTAM on NorthAviMet or on Naviair's briefing page:

                3.11.5.10 Weather information during flight

You can ask the flight information service for any weather information you may

need during your flight over the radio.

You can also tune to specific frequencies and get:

                  - VOLMET: a MET report from selected airports. VOLMET is broadcast

continuously 24/7 on 127.00 MHz and is selected METARs from Denmark,

Sweden and Norway as well as Northern Germany

                  - ATIS: a MET report from a specific airport

Remember to make a PIREP (PilotReport) if you observe weather that may be

                dangerous to others.
