Operational procedures

When we are flying VFR, the weather is usually good, and if we maintain

sufficient visibility, we can avoid many dangerous situations.

Before we taxi over a stop line, we look ahead – to both sides – and it is a good
idea to announce loudly “BOTH FINALS CLEAR” or something similar, so that you

have a fixed procedure for looking out.

This applies regardless of whether you are on a grass runway or a larger airport

                with air traffic control service.

Before you start flying at a foreign airport, it is important to thoroughly

familiarize yourself with the structure of the airport. That is, how the runways

and taxiways are laid out. Are there special areas for warming up (Run Up)? Are

there standard taxi routes for departure on the runways?

You can find all this in VFG Danmark (Visual Flight Guide), which you can find

                here: https://aim.naviair.dk

Including a section about the information we can find in VFG, and how we use
                this operationally

                6.4.1 Airport information

If you are going to visit an airport, it is important to make sure that it is open.

You should also look at the local rules for using the airport.

The VFR Flight Guide is a good help for this, especially if you know how to

                interpret the information.

We will look at this here.
