                9.1 Introduction (Navigation 1 - 2 videoer)

The purpose of studying flight theory is to become a pilot. That is, to fly an

airplane yourself. An essential part of flying is being able to plan and execute a

flight from one place to another.

A large part of planning and executing a flight is navigation.

Navigation is the art of determining position and course. Be it on the ground, in

the air or on the water. In relation to flying, this means that you must be able to

plan a route and execute getting to where you want to go. It also means that you

must be able to indicate your current position at any time along the way.

For this subject, you must use aids that can be obtained through the school. The

aids we use, and with which the exercises are shown, are:

                  - navigation computer POOLEYS

                      CRP1W or CRP1

                  - plotter PilotStyle PS331 - measuring

                      courses and distances

                  - map ICAO Denmark 1:500,000

On the school's DistanceLearning page, there are lots of tasks that you can

download and solve. There is also an answer sheet so you can check your
                solution.

Navigation is a subject where you need to practice routine in solving problems

and using the "wheel of fortune", which some like to call the navigation

computer. Watch the short film clips that are also available on distance learning.

                And do the tasks.

For many, it will be an advantage to attend classes in this subject. See the

lesson plan for when we teach this subject.
