Navigation
In order to be able to navigate, in addition to the aids we use for calculations
etc., it also requires knowledge of facts and concepts, which are largely general
all-round knowledge, but which are of particular importance for flying.
This can be, for example, knowledge of how to read a map, when the sun rises
and sets or the Earth's grid, but it can also be more specific things such as the
wind and its influence on the aircraft.
Navigation goes into depth with the areas that you as a pilot must be familiar
with in order to be able to plan and carry out a flight under safe and sound
decisions.
In many places, for the best possible understanding, it is an advantage to have
flight equipment such as a map, navigation computer, ruler and protractor at
hand.
