KIUB STRATA dan mendapati penguasaan kemahiran murid mengeja perkataan semakin meningkat jika
dibandingkan dengan sebelumnya. Murid tersebut lebih menunjukkan sikap positif dengan menunjukkan
pembelajaran aktif untuk menguasai kemahiran mengeja perkataan mudah dan mempunyai keyakinan diri dalam
aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran di kelas. Kiub Strata yang dihasilkan juga relevan dengan keperluan semasa,
murah, tahan lasak dan boleh dikomersialkan. Jika ianya bermanfaat untuk pendidikan khas tentunya ianya
bermanfaat untuk murid pra sekolah, pemulihan dan sebagainya. Malah boleh digunakan untuk permainan ketika
beriadah seisi keluarga.

USING T-STA INNOVATION IN PROMOTING ENGLISH SPEAKING AMONG YEAR 6 PUPILS

T-Sta Innovation which stands for Tag-a-star Innovation is a innovative programme developed by our team, English
Language Panel SKP to help our pupils in English classroom. This falls under the category of Creation Innovation
(Inovasi Penciptaan). Itis a primer project (Primer). There was a need for this programme when the English teacher of
6 Juara notices that pupils lack confidence to speak English in the class. T-Sta Innovation programme aims to
strengthen the Year 6 pupils’ confidence in speaking English. The design of this study involves the collection of data
in qualitative and quantitative data collection method. Observation technique was used as a qualitative data collection
method, while self-evaluation test in pretest and posttest and Pentaksiran Bilik Darjah (PBD) Evaluation result was
used as a quantitative data collection method. A total of five pupils from the class 6 Juara involved in this
datacollection but the programme was conducted during the lesson for the whole class. Toconduct the T-Sta
Innovation programme, the teacher prepared a beautifully decorated board with pupils’ name list, called T-Sta. She
also prepared some stars and award them to the pupils as they try to speak English in and outside the classroom.
Pupils getthe privilege to tag the stars at their names on the board. To encourage the pupils to speak English, the
teacher prepared some interesting activities and tasks in groups,pairs and individuals and the pupils enjoyed
completing them. The results of the study found that these five (5) pupils of 6 Juara were able to speak English
confidently after the intervention of T-Sta Innovation. Their PBD result increased and their interest tospeak English
aroused. Accordingly, T-Sta Innovation has succeeded in improving students' confidence in speaking English
actively to teachers and friends not only during class but even outside the classroom especially at home with their
family and relatives. In future, T-Sta Innovation program will be developed in an easy method for the teacherto
prepare and will be applicable to all level of pupils from preschool to Year 6. All the teachers from our English
Language panel will be able to enjoy this program to help their pupils to speak English in the class. This also
applicable to other skills besides listening and speaking such as reading, writing, grammar and language arts.
