small greenhouse was added in which local buds could be planted.
And all this work was done with aid and solidarity. The organised
activity of the people, the workers, the resisters, the artists and in-
tellectuals created the centre.

A ceremony to open the DIRENKAZOVA – DIH SWEATER

AND CULTURE centre, which was born from resistance, was
held on Saturday 25 January 2014.

The opening ceremony started with a march from Sisli square
at half past three. About 500 people marched to the centre chant-
ing slogans. There was nobody absent from the march: resisting
BELTAS workers, BEDAS workers, Sisli municipality workers,
GOLDAS workers, EGS workers, Nakliyat-Is General Secretary

Ali Riza Kucukosmanoglu, the HEY textile workers, Rozateks
workers, Punto Deri workers, Engineers and Architects of the Peo-
ple, the people of Kurucesme Kirac… Everyone resisting and strug-
gling on the basis of their rights and legitimacy was there.
Everyone brought their banners and their smocks lettered with
slogans and took their place in the line of march.

At 4 pm they arrived in front of the store and the opening
ceremony started. First of all, the Kazova workers spoke. They said

in their speeches, we resisted, we won, we will build up and expand
our resistance.

After the speech made for the DIH, Nakliyat-Is Trade Union
General Secretary Ali Riza Kucukosmanoglu spoke. In his speech
he stressed the importance of the Kazova resistance. The general
secretary stressed that this resistance was one that made clear the
state of trade union leaderships, these leaderships had turned their
