Taruk, Guler Ince and Mehmet Esatoglu came out onto the
podium in sweaters with the Kazova label. They were never alone.
There was always popular and absolute support to the resistance.
This is why hot tea never ran out. Calendars showed that they de-
clared victory at the end of October. Because the machines were
legally theirs at that point. And these machines would never leave
their hands. Because they had expended labour for these machines
and sweated for them. But the bosses who fed off their labour laid
claim to them. The workers resisted with legitimacy and made oth-
ers accept that the machines were literally theirs. When this deci-
sion was reached, the Somuncu family was brazen enough to say
that “we gave them the machines, let them work for themselves”.
The workers responded that this was “complete lies. Everyone
knows it so it is not very convincing. We won this resistance to-
gether. Since the DIH was at our side, the revolutionaries sup-
ported us and we won together with them.” The workers took the
machines elsewhere and are continuing production there.
Visit To Resisting Factory Workers In Gebze
The Kazova workers and the DIH visited Fen-Is aluminium
workers in Gebze who are resisting.
The visit, which happened on 12 January (presumably 2014)
was met with enthusiasm by the Fen-Is workers, and the Kazova
workers and DIH conversed with them about resistance and
shared experiences.
This Is System Justice!
