Although the
factory had been
emptied, the work-
ers had made prepa-
rations. A tea
samovar had been
put up and our peo-
ple were given hot
tea in the cold
weather.
Following the speeches made in the name of the Kazova work-
ers the representative of the DIH spoke. After describing the re-
sistance and the victory, the DIH representative call for other acts
of resistance. The representative called for support for the
BELTAS workers and the Genel-Is workers and said the Kazova
workers’ resistance had not ended, it had merely changed its form.
Henceforth resistance would be more difficult and solidarity with
it would be even more essential, and the DIH said going over to
setting up a cooperative was a sign of confidence in our people.
After the DIH spoke, our artist friends came out onto the
stage to join the victory celebrations. A horon was danced, to the
accompaniment of bagpipes, then the music group Emege Ezgi
came out. Bandista, Pinar Aydinlar, Grup Yorum folk songs, songs
and marches shared the joy of victory with the Kazova workers.
Gizem Akman and Ayse Ceren Sari shared a theatre exercise with
the guests and workers.
After the artists’ programme, a forum was held. Participants
in the Forum were university students, Anti-Capitalist Muslims,
