Revolutionary Muslims, the Tatavla Forum, the Sisli Central
Forum and the Kocamustafapasa Forum. The White Collar
Forum, Mimar Sinan University students, Galatasaray University
students and Bogazici University students were also at the workers’
side in celebrating victory. As they had been in the resistance. The
BELTAS workers, who were still occupying the CHP district build-

ing in Besiktas and were starting a hunger strike for their trade
union rights saluted the victory of the Kazova workers and said
they would give them good news of their own victory.

Kilometre Stones In The Kazova Resistance

The Kazova workers resisted for months to get the rights back
from the Somuncu family which had stolen them. During this re-

sistance they experienced many things and caused others to expe-
rience many things. And this resistance won a victory and was also
an innovation for the working class of Turkey. Factory bosses had
thrown them out of work, taken away their rights and removed
valuable machinery from the factory. The machinery that was left
was old, damaged by the bosses and turned into scrap metal. For
weeks they pitched a tent in front of the factory, and as this was
not enough they occupied the factory. They saw the strength in
their own hands and decided to produce. They raised the money

to repair the machines by selling sweaters. They went everywhere
to sell them. They went to forums to talk about the resistance, sell
sweaters and take orders for them. Everyone who heard about it
started to come to Kazova. After the machines were repaired their
production and strength grew. They showed this strength by hold-
ing a fashion show on 28 September 2013. The models, and the
artists, came onto the stage for the working class. Pelin Batu,
