Our friends had thought up to that time that “the police are pro-
          tecting themselves from people who throw stones at them, that is
          why they use water and gas” but they changed their views after
          today. Because they saw who was really defending themselves and
          who had designs on other peoples’ lives. Their grudge against
          those who would turn our holiday into a hell grew. From our point

          of view May Day was very educational.

               2 May 2013 Thursday

               The fourth day of the resistance – In the morning we are back
          at our tent. Those who pass greet us. With some we have an op-
          portunity to converse. We feel well here.

               We put the tea on and make breakfast. Gradually our friends
          started to come. Again we distributed leaflets in the afternoon

          and as people were leaving work. Our friends who are in the tent
          during the day go home to rest in the evening. Our tent was
          crowded until quite late. We drank tea and chatted. We spoke
          about our duty roster.

               3 May 2013 Friday

               At one in the afternoon the lawyer of a worker who lost is life

          working at Kazova ten years ago visited us.  They won in court but
          could not get what was owed to them. The lawyer would partici-
          pate in the Wednesday actions. Now Umit Somuncu had told us
          that he gave material support to the wife of the worker who died
          and had made him retired. At about a half four the workers in the
          neighbourhood brought food. But not too many stayed after work-
          ing hours. One of our friends from Sisli municipality came. He
          greeted us and did not leave us to our devices. He visited almost
