5 August 2013 Monday
Social event marking the 100th day
We held a social event in front of the factory to mark the
100th day of resistance. Items of clothing manufactured with ma-
terials by workers in another workshop were sold here as a gesture
of support.
6 August 2013 Tuesday
Today is the 160th day of our resistance,
The 100th day of our tent resistance,
The 40th day of our factory occupation and the 38th day of
our hunger strike.
The day started with the visit of a friend from the DIH. To-
wards afternoon a letter from one of the prisoners in Bakirkoy
Prison (translator’s note: a women’s prison in Istanbul), Aysun
Akdag, improved our morale greatly. During our resistance the
prisoners never forgot about us. If they could not be with us phys-
ically, they strengthened our morale with their letters. Their letters
strengthened our belief in our victory.
After the letters from prisoners arrived, members of the
TAYAD Families came to visit. We chatted with them a good deal.
Later one of our friends from Sisli municipality visited. Out of
solidarity he took sweaters that we knitted.
