from the Tatavla forum danced the zeybek (translator’s note: west-
ern Turkish dance). One of our friends from the DIH recited a
poem. Our friends from the Idil Culture Centre gave a perform-
ance of the theatre piece You Won’t Find Such A Prime Minister.

Besides a lot of other friends, the holiday was celebrated with

the Resisting Beltas workers, the Revolutionary Muslims, TAYAD,
the Youth Federation, the Idil Culture Centre, the Otekiler Cul-
ture Centre and the Tatavla and Kocamustafapasa forums.

As time passed, gradually our friends departed one by one.
In the evening only four of us were left. We ate our evening meal
and drank tea. This was how the day passed.

18 October 2013 Friday

Today was the fourth and last day of the holiday. The rain
continued, sometimes quite heavily. We had breakfast in the
morning, nobody visited until the afternoon. We sorted our
sweaters inside. Those that we ironed we put on hangers. Those
we did not iron were put to one side.

In the afternoon Volkan Yarasir and our friends came. We
chatted with them and they stayed until evening.

19 October Saturday, 20 October 2013 Sunday

During these two days there were only sporadic visits. It was
quite quiet. Our machines did not stop working, including at
night. We continued to produce without a pause. On Saturday
evening there were quite a few of us. Our friends from the Tatavla
forum were there. Together we sang songs and drank tea.
