Galatasaray with workers who are resisting like we are. Sundays
we read out a press statement in front of the home of our bosses.
With all your actions they have not addressed us so we de-
cided to set up a tent. I believe we will win, because there are many
people who resisted and won.
Y: Are you referring to your tent resistance? What else are you
thinking of doing?
Songul Kara: At the moment we have just set our tent up.
We have yet to take any other decision. We spend 24 hours to-
gether in a tent with other resisters. We make efforts to explain
our problems to everyone we can reach. We go to television sta-
tions and newspapers. We call at every door to get help. In this
country there are a lot of people who respect labour and rights.
This is why every resistance will end in victory.
Yuruyus: Can you introduce yourself?
Ali Yaman: My name is Ali Yaman. I was born in 1992, I am
from Samsun Bafra. I joined the Kazova Trikotaj Factory in 2000
and have worked for 13 years in the textile department.
We started resistance as we could not get our rights and had
nobody to address.
Y: What are the concrete demands of the resistance?
Ali Yaman: They changed 11 of us over to Nes Triko. Our
boss gave us his word of honour. He signed on the dotted line and
said he guaranteed our rights for ten years. But we did not get our
rights. We want our wages and compensation.
