but much remains. There is a lot to struggle against.

Y: How did you feel when you started?

Serkan Gonul: How can I say it, it was something wonderful.
I am doing something for myself, I am producing for myself. The
machines are ours. They are now working again, we are like doc-

tors who reactivated a human heart. In the same way we returned
these machines to life. They had stopped. Not even the bailiffs
had bothered taking them away. Reports from experts maintained
that they were scrap iron only. The scrap iron is now working and
producing, things are positive, all friends are thinking good things.

Now I look, all their workplaces are going down. That means
they abandoned the reins, they are free. They went on holiday in
Bodrum but if you ask them they would say they went under. If

they are spending money on holiday, it is with money they took
from us. There are no questions directed at them. I am closing the
factory, it is closed, how many workers were there, there were 94
workers there, did you give money, there was none. Why are you
closing it, how are you closing it.

Y: You referred to Bedas, you referred to other workers being
thrown out of work. At the moment you are resisting for your

rights. This has given great strength to the whole working class.
Do you want to say anything on this subject?

Serkan Gonul: I do not believe that after this, many bosses
will be able to do the things that Umit and Umut Somuncu did.
If they do, they will not be able to fool around with the workers
        to that degree.
