day and night and we finally put the tent up. We talked about the
women spending days in the tent and the men staying there at
night but unfortunately just one woman volunteered. We could
not get the others to. After that the whole day depended on the
men. The men were 12 in total. This went on for not just one
month, not two months, six to seven months. It was necessary to

work there, half of the men were working. So this (the tent) de-
pended only on four of us. After that we had more participation
from Our friend Engin, our friend Bulent said it could not go on
like this. We took a decision to go inside (the building) but when

working. To get them working we obtained motors. We found a
skilled worker. Somehow or other we started to get two or three
          machines working.

Yasar Gulay: With their speeches, the DIH were completely
able to convince us, they explained everything clearly to us and re-
assured us. But there was hesitation because we had never taken

part in an action before. Otherwise they would have put us to
sleep. We decided to explain this to the friends. We decided to
wage a struggle and pay whatever price would be necessary.

Y: Could you say something about your bosses?

Yasar Gulay: The man prays five times a day, he has made
