Bulent Kaplan: When the Kazova resistance started, I con-
fronted a proposal that was not ethical. The offer was that I should
break the resistance of my 13 friends. Of course I could not accept
this. I decided that I would be at the side of my resisting friends
and not sell them. Later on I was at the side of my friends in re-
sistance. During the resistance I also had to look at my home so I
was working, but I continually went to the resistance tent and was
on duty there. Later on we decided to set up a cooperative together
with the DIH. In connection with this my friends rented an 80
square metre shopping space in Bayramapasa. I was very pleased
by this as at first we had started with just three machines. During
spare time I worked on expanding the workshop and organising
the machines and the establishment. With our beliefs, within four
months I and my friends managed to move into a bigger space.
We increased the number of machines from three to 14.
During this process, what pleased you the most?
Bulent Kaplan: What pleased me the most during this was
the Grup Yorum Independent Turkey concert when we were
called as the Kazova workers and to 500,000 people we chanted
the slogan “We are workers, we are right, we will win”. I under-
stood that united we cannot be defeated and they made me feel
the strength of organisation.
SIRIN AYAZ
You were one of those who took part in working at Kazova
after the Kazova workers began to produce. When did you first
hear about Kazova?
Sirin Ayaz: I first heard about Kazova in Taksim’s Gezi Park.
