I heard about the resistance. This was the period of the Gezi up-
rising. I also took part. I heard a voice and saw in their hands a
banner with the inscription “WE ARE WORKERS, WE ARE
RIGHT, WE WILL WIN”. As a worker, I was curious as to why
they were resisting. I wanted to ask questions and chat with them,
but the opportunity was lost when the police began firing pepper
gas. Later I looked them up on the Internet. I also read Yuruyus
magazine. This was early in the resistance. I followed it from the
Internet and Yuruyus magazine. I am working and did not get the
opportunity for time off. One day a week I stay at home.
Later I learned that they had won and was very happy to hear
this. Sometimes I said it was a pity I was not one of them. Some-
times I became a little depressed about it. But no, I know that we
are the workers. But still, I was working in a fairly degenerate en-
vironment. I lived in a setting rather like the Charlie Chaplin film
Modern Times. I was formed in the system’s workplaces like a
piece of machinery.
How did you join the Kazova cooperative?
Sirin Ayaz: The fifth Grup Yorum concert had been banned.
But still we went out to the square and sang our songs. Then again,
the police drove us off and naturally there were a lot of things I
did not know. I wanted to be organised at the same time. I took
part when the police attacked and chased us. Hello, I said, I am
one my own, can I take part? Yes, they said. We introduced our-
selves to one another and we chatted and an older man and
woman there said great things. Later I gave them my telephone
number. I searched on the Internet and got their telephone num-
ber. We went to the May Day picnic and there they told me about
